The Establishment of the Dr. Friedrich Jungheinrich Foundation
Friedrich Jungheinrich (1899–1968), who held a doctorate in engineering, established ‘H. Jungheinrich & Co. Maschinenfabrik’ in Hamburg on August 7, 1953. What started in a small workshop and 30 employees in the district of Barmbek has evolved into an international group of companies with a five-digit workforce and net sales of over two billion euros a year. This places Jungheinrich among the top 3 in its sector worldwide. En route to establishing this strong position, Jungheinrich transformed itself from a material handling equipment producer to an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations that offers its customers “all things forklifts” of premium quality.
Unique corporate culture.
How we got to where we are today is in great part due to a unique corporate culture characterized by the company’s founder which today—60 years later—continues to determine entrepreneurial activity and personal interaction at Jungheinrich.
